Overview

Why the post exists

Our Employment Services department plays a key role in equipping people who have a health condition or disability, the unemployed and other disadvantaged groups with the skills and training needed to find, enter and sustain meaningful work.

The Recruitment Manager contributes to the success of the Work & Health Programme by managing relationships with local and national stakeholders and employers to create then maintain a stream of suitable job opportunities for programme participants.

Overview

Key areas of responsibility

  • Identifying and building effective relationships with relevant stakeholders (including employment agencies, recruiters, Local Enterprise Partnerships, Local Government, and careers fairs) to ensure the visibility of the programme.
  • Positively engaging with employers to source sustainable employment opportunities for programme participants.
  • Creating bespoke packages to meet employer recruitment needs including shaping roles for specific job seekers.
  • Operating positively and managing own activity in a target-driven customer-focused environment.
  • Engaging with businesses to upsell the benefits of Chamber membership.

Overview

Ideally applicants will possess

  • Experience of working in a welfare to work programme or the employability sector.
  • Previous work experience in a fast-paced target driven and customer-focused sales environment.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with employers and key stakeholders.
  • Willing and able to motivate, coach and develop programme participants.
  • Experience of working to strict minimum service levels and key performance indicators.
  • Able to manage time effectively and be driven by results.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local labour market and employment trends.

If you’re successful at this stage, you will be invited for an interview. If you’re unsuccessful, the Chamber’s HR team will let you know by email.

First, you’ll be invited to interview onsite at our Nottingham office within 10 days of the advert closure. If your interview goes well, you may invited to attend a second interview or offered the role. Some interviews might require you to compile some research or to prepare a presentation. At the end of the interview, the interviewer will confirm the timeline for next steps.

Interviews usually last around an hour with a mix of competency based interview questions, and in some cases, we might ask you to carry out some practical exercises.

Decisions will be made at each stage of the process, as we score applicants against the role criteria. If you’re successful, we will contact you to make an offer. This will be followed up in writing and a contract will be sent to you once a start date is confirmed. You will receive information on your induction and what you will do on your first day. If you have any questions, please just get in touch.
