Businesses in areas earmarked by Government for UK Community Renewal Fund (UKCRF) support are being invited to learn more about how they can get involved.
In the East Midlands, the UKCRF areas are Derbyshire Dales, High Peak, Mansfield, Bassetlaw, Newark and Sherwood, Nottingham city, and Leicester city.
East Midlands Chamber, which is leading the East Midlands Accelerator project to deliver UKCRF funding across those areas, will host a virtual information session on Friday 25 March. It is repeated on Monday 28 March, with both taking place between 1pm and 2.30pm.
These virtual events will be followed by a series of face-to-face events, including an East Midlands Accelerator (Derbyshire) showcase, being held in partnership with Business Peak District on the evening of 29 March at Thornbridge Hall to target Derbyshire Dales and High Peak businesses.
East Midlands Accelerator project supports young and established businesses
Diane Beresford, deputy chief executive at East Midlands Chamber who is leading the Accelerator project, said: “There is so much on offer for businesses in eligible UKCRF areas, which could have a transformative impact on their organisations and wider communities.
“Budding entrepreneurs can tap into support to set up new business ventures. Established businesses can access support on adopting new digital technologies and accelerating low-carbon transition, or simply to re-boot activity post-Covid. Our consortium partners have the perfect match of diagnostics, one-to-one mentoring, training, consultancy and advice.
“Engaging with businesses in this way allows our region’s business advisers to identify who might further accelerate their growth through our new grants of £8,000 and growth vouchers of £2,000.
“These events present a chance to fast-track businesses to the consortium partner most suitable to their needs.”
The funding, which must be spent by 30 June, is being allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Businesses may book their place on one of the virtual sessions at the East Midlands Accelerator virtual events on 25 or 28 March, or at the face-to-face BPD East Midlands Accelerator (Derbyshire) Showcase event on 29 March.
